All Under One Roof ...
Our depth of knowledge and expertise, coupled with our three business licenses, leaves us in the beneficial position of offering our company, trust and investment management services under one roof. This avoids potential "Chinese whispers", ensuring the accurate and expedient relay of information to and from our trust and corporate structures to the underlying investment manager.
The Lorne House Family Office is respected for its tailored approach to investment management, constructing portfolios around our clients' bespoke financial requirements, rather than relying on pre-determined models. Recognising the added value of prudent strategic long-term asset allocation, we eschew short-term "trading" approaches in favour of a highly-diversified framework of assets, uniquely constructed to weather changes in the fullness of a global economic cycle.
A Class Apart ...
Naturally, our clients' primary interest is in their portfolio's performance. Our ability to meet their risk tolerance and return expectations is driven by a more in-depth analysis of how various asset classes and stock-holdings behave in certain market conditions and how each interacts within the portfolio. Apart from our substantial database of research, we employ techniques which allow us to extrapolate this information on a stock-by-stock basis, assisted by price-feed and index information from independent data providers services, such as the highly reliable "Bloomberg Professional" service.
A Basket of Eggs ...
Since Harry Markowitz's pioneering research into Modern Portfolio Theory in the 1950's, it has long been established that an international and broad-based combination of asset classes within a portfolio produces a superior risk-return profile than that of a single asset class or investment over a similar period of time. A portfolio which achieves the highest possible return for a given risk profile, sits on what is now termed as the "efficient frontier".
The only caveat to this theory is that the "optimisation" process which produces the resulting portfolio is based largely on historical data and current "man-made" forecasts and assumptions of future market behaviour. The Lorne House Family Office aims to strike a balance by combining modern portfolio theory, fundamental research and close observation of behavioural finance to construct the most robust portfolio for your investment needs.
Institutional Opportunities ...
Recently, we have significantly enhanced our investment management offering for ultra-high net worth clients with investable assets of five million pounds or more, via an exclusive third party-wealth management service. This provides our wealthiest clients with a truly unique offering, such as the participation in an investment bank's proprietary deal flow as well as access to hard-closed institutional funds.
Furthermore, this service provides a strategic asset allocation to institutional quality third-party funds, together with the ability to dynamically leverage the portfolio. Full details of these services are available on request.
